An Alternative to "The Luck of the Irish"

Happy St. Patrick's Day one and all! I do hope your day has been a festive one, filled with the 'luck of the Irish' and joy and glee and Guinness and corned beef and all that good stuff.
My day has been...let's just say...slightly unlucky. I'll spare you most of the details. Christian melted down ALL MORNING, didn't take a nap, practiced slapping and kicking me, threw a book and microphone toy at me, and screamed and cried until lunch. At lunch, I served up his food (doing my best not to take out my anger on him by slipping him some rancid peanut butter or something along those lines), and stood in the pantry crying. He heard/saw me and laughed.
:: Sigh ::
Danny came home at lunch to a laughing, happy son with peanut butter on his face and a weepy mess of a wife with no makeup on hers. My poor, poor husband. I suppose the pregnancy hormones got the best of me. In any case, Danny did a fantastic job of consoling and encouraging me. He deserves brownies...and a good hot meal when he comes home tonight. We may not be Irish, but Danny has the luck of the Irish on his side. (Dare I say it...he may just get lucky!) ;-)
