Deck the Halls

Christmas is our favorite time of year.  We deck our halls and everything twinkles.  This year has been fun (though challenging with both little ones) decorating and anticipating.

Santa's little helper, inspecting the tree
This is the second year that we've continued the tradition of homemade gingerbread and a toast to the season.  Christian joined us with a Molasses-Ginger cookie and a mini glass we recently got from a wedding.

Jonathan was into everything, so I did what any self-respecting / sanity-loving momma does...I strapped him into his high-chair and gave him gingerbread to eat.  It worked for a few minutes anyway.

Christian has really enjoyed decorating this year.  We might just be getting a "kid tree" for the kids to decorate and play with.  We shall see...

Danny learned how to properly put Christmas decorations on a tree from his dad.  Now he is passing along the lesson to Christian.

At one point Jonathan tried to climb the step stool, and stopped on the bottom step when he noticed it was occupied.  (How do you like that mischievous grin of Jon's?)

The decor in our guest room...I felt it needed a wintery feel.

Finally, I've updated our wreath.  It needed some TLC.
The kids' rooms are decorated, as is the kitchen / family room.  I started with baking gingerbread and Molasses-Ginger cookies and have now moved on to sugar cookies and fudge (someone stop me!).  Christmas music is playing daily and Christmas books have been brought down to read with the kids.

Fa la la la la la la la la!
