During autumn, we have a tradition of heading to Oak Glen, a local apple-growing community. We've done it FOREVER, so when we heard about another semi-local apple-growing community, we HAD to go.
The town of Julian did not disappoint. We had been planning to go with some friends from church for longer than I care to admit. Last week we finally made it happen.
After a beautiful 1 1/2 hour drive, we arrived in the quaint little town around 12:30pm. We quickly grabbed lunch at a mom and pop place, finishing it off of course with an apple pie to rival the best. We then walked the grub off a bit while shopping in adorable little shops and seeing the sights.
The day ended with a glass of hot apple cider and bags of homemade candy before heading home. It was a lovely day with lovely friends.
And the loveliness of the friends certainly made up for the rotten spilled milk smell that permeated my car during the 3 hours of driving that we *enjoyed*.
