Thanksgiving Project

Every Thanksgiving my assignment is to make a centerpiece for the dinner table. Each year I use items I find around my parents' house. I had a blast this year, and here is the finished product...

Basically I took a piece of wood from my parents' woodpile, and headed to dad's woodshop. I cut off the bottom (to prevent it from rolling on the table), and made sure that there weren't any knots / branches poking out. I then drilled tealight candle sized holes into the top, and pencil eraser sized holes on the sides of the bottom for branches, etc. I threw a few lit tealights into the top, headed outside and clipped pine branches, picked up pinecones and leaves, and Voila! Instant centerpiece!
