Inspirational Group - Village Bible Church Young Marrieds

Ok, a little background first. Jump in a time machine and go back to the mid to late 1970's. My dad and his family were living in Anaheim and attending Village Bible Church. Dad was the kid who sat in the back row and got into trouble. My mom and her family (missionaries who recently returned from years in the field) began attending VBC. My parents met in the youth group, and the rest is history.

Fast forward 27 years. Danny had finished seminary, and time as a youth pastor in Nuevo. We were looking for a church in our area while Danny was looking for a job. At the suggestion of my uncle, we decided to check out a church just down the street from where we lived: Village Bible Church. Much to our surprise, we found the teaching to be outstanding and solid. We felt accepted and loved from the moment we entered the doors. We felt like we came home and were visiting family. (Side note - as VBC is a generational church, there were quite a few people who actually knew my dad and could tell me all kinds of fun stories about him.)

Since we've returned to Nuevo and Danny took a pastoral position at our church, we've kept in contact with our friends from the Village Bible Young Marrieds Group. They are some of the sweetest, fun-loving, child-like, lovely people I've known. Conversation with them is easy. Relating to them is effortless. They are unpretentious and will go out of their way to help you out. They are also the most organized party planners I know (they have a ton of events and are always on top of it). Best of all, they reflect Christ's love at every point. There is no doubt in my mind where their priorities are; it is evident that Christ rules their lives.

After attending a baby shower for one of the women in the group yesterday, I feel quite inspired. I hope that I can be as effortlessly hospitable and loving as these wonderful people are!
