I am the proud sister of a Marine.
My brother is 8 years my junior. Being an only child until he was born made it all the more exciting when he finally arrived. I was in love immediately...and it was a committed love. No matter what trouble he got me into, what disgusting things he did, or pranks he played on me, I loved him.
I adore Jake. Yes, he is a bit of a rebel, but he also has incredible passion. He has long loved extreme sports...anything from "golf cart top sledding" to "buildering", rock climbing, skateboarding, traveling at mass speeds down a cable with a pulley...you name it, he's probably done it. I suppose his love for risk is what prepared him for the Corps.
Jake is now overseas, defending our freedoms as a Lance Corporal in the Marine Corps. Regardless of your political affiliation or even your view of the war, as an American you need to keep our servicemen and women in your prayers. Please also keep his boss, our president, the Commander in Chief in your prayers; he holds a lot of power and a lot of lives in his hands.
