CPMS Moments

Yep, I've been having quite a few CPMS (Crazy Pregnant Momma Syndrome) moments of late.

A few days ago I decided to make Danny tortilla chips in the oven. Usually I spray corn tortilla triangles with cooking spray. However, my cooking spray was not working for me, so I decided to use oil - mistake number 1. Instead of cooking them at 375 degrees, I thought they would be done faster and crisper if I put them in the broiler on low broil setting - mistake number 2. Five minutes later I look and see smoke billowing from the oven. I opened the oven to find the entire baking tray ON FIRE. It looked like Hades in there! I yelled "Danny, we have a fire in here!" and proceeded to pull out the fiery tray and toss it in the sink. It almost got worse when Danny went to put water on it, but I told him we just had to let it burn out (GREASE FIRE 101). OY.

Today my friend Jessica found out she is going to have a little girl. As I sat on my couch thinking of how precious her little girl is going to be, I felt my baby squirming around (flutters). And then it happened...my brain ran wild. The "what ifs" that plague every pregnant woman one time or another started flooding my mind (it didn't help that I read a blog about a baby that didn't make it past his first birthday). I had to step back in a logical moment and remind myself that God's plan is perfect, and whoever our baby is, God has already ordained. OY.

I'm not too far off from the halfway point in this pregnancy, and thank God every day for this opportunity to be a momma again. God is good, and in everything I trust in Him.
