BEFORE - Danny gnaws on carne during the last time we used our BBQ. Check out the weeds / hill. We had approximately 4 feet of flat ground in our backyard. (To see a post on the wall Danny built by himself, check out the August 12th post here.)
AFTER - We had put concrete on the back burner for sometime, as the original quote was over $11,000. With the economy down, we got new quote for more than half off the original quote, which was much more doable. We were able to use our tax refunds to buy a new backyard! (LOOK AT ALL THAT SPACE!)
The process took 3 days from start to finish, and the workers did a phenomenal job. Christian was hilarious - the head honcho had similar characteristics to my dad apparently, and Christian kept calling him "Papa". There were times where Christian would stand at the window and yell "PAPA! PAPA! PAPA!" at the man. Too cute. I think we need to visit my parents soon...Christian's misses 'Tana Papa!
We now can bring our beautiful BBQ out from a hibernation that has lasted over a year. We are more than excited (I'm currently looking for free/cheap patio furniture on Craig's List, so that we don't have to have all of our BBQ picnics on the ground). This was an answer to prayer for sure (I had NO IDEA how we would ever get concrete). What a blessing!
