Legoland, USA

This was taken on our way out of the park...they both have huge grins on their faces.

For Christian's birthday, a good (and VERY generous friend) gave us tickets to visit Legoland in San Diego. We wanted to go before too long, so that we could enjoy the day just the three of us. It was a PERFECT day.

Christian woke up singing "Happy Birthday". He gave me a run for my money as we got ready to go, but once Danny got home from the gym, Christian was an angel. We loaded up and left so that we could get to the park at opening.

On our way, Danny was mid-sentence when I suddenly decided that I needed McDonald's. I'm not kidding, I needed it NOW. We both laughed at my random pregnant brain, and being the wonderful husband that he is, he pulled off to get me a sausage biscuit. YUM. :-)

We arrived at the park in the cool of the morning. It was so fun to see the miniature cities built out of legos. Danny and I are huge fans of miniatures, and legos for that matter, so it was right up our alley. Christian really enjoyed them too.

Danny and Christian went on a few rides (pregnant women restricted) before lunch. We then went to a water area where Christian went to TOWN. After peeling him away from the water play area, he fell asleep pretty quickly, so we headed to the Sea Life aquarium to cool off and rest our toes.

Once Christian awoke, we returned to the main park to go to the duplex world, which is geared to toddlers. There were buildings to go in and out of, cars and trucks to "drive", slides to go down, and of course legos to play with. Christian ran and ran and played and played, grinning from ear to ear the entire time.

Danny and Christian played with legos, though Danny seemed to spend more time building his creations than Christian. In fact, there were several times where I found Danny playing with the legos all by himself. :-)

When we got home it didn't take long to figure out our A/C wasn't working (it was 86 degrees in the house at 8pm). While I took a cold bath, Danny investigated what was going on. He ended up fixing it, and I was in awe of him, once again. What a man I'm married to!
We all slept VERY soundly after such an eventful day. It was a PERFECT and memorable day. Oh, and yes, we WILL go back to Legoland once the baby is old enough.
