Unretouched photo - right around the corner from my house |
You've gotta love Southern California weather. Only 3 days ago, it was 113 degrees at our house. Today it was stormy all day.
I told Christian to look at the sky |
As has been our routine the past couple of weeks, tonight we ate dinner and then loaded the boys up into the wagon and went on a walk around the neighborhood. We usually catch a lovely sunset, often run into friends and church members that live nearby.
San Jacinto Avenue |
But tonight was different. As soon as we walked outside we saw the entire sky lit up like it was on fire. I grabbed the camera, and am so glad I did.
I had one of those moments while we walked where all I could do was thank God for it all. I was thanking God that I could make a healthy, delicious meal that my entire family could sit at a table together and enjoy. I was thanking God that I wasn't one of those cars just getting home from a long day of work on my way to pick up my kids missing that glorious sunset in my rearview mirror. I was thanking God for the man that was pulling the wagon of boys...the man who works so hard to allow me to be driven crazy by those nutty little darlings.
I could go on and on. It was just one of those moments that I wished I could pause and replay again and again. And that is why I needed to blog about it, so that I might relive a brief moment of this sweet life I lead.
