God is so faithful.
Last week, Danny (aka "Hot Hubby") was ordained. When he came home and told me about the upcoming day, he mentioned that he thought it was an event worthy of a new tie. As this is never a request he makes, I completely agreed, but our checking account didn't. It broke my heart to tell him that we just couldn't do it.
A few days before the "big day" he came home with a gift from a member of our church. A brand new shirt and tie. I'm not kidding. One of our church members gave both Danny and Steve (the other pastor) a new shirt and tie as a gift for Clergy Appreciation month (which, by the way, if you haven't appreciated your pastor this month, get on it!). Is that not AWESOME?!

A couple of weeks ago I had noticed that Christian's jeans and pj's were all suddenly too small. The drawer of pj's that once was too full to close was now almost empty. And then a call from a friend. She was selling a bunch of clothes at a yard sale but wanted me to go through them first before she did. EIGHT pairs of pj's, several sweaters and pairs of jeans later, and my 3 year old had a new wardrobe for fall. Really. I can't make up this sort of wonderful stuff.
I'm learning that as a PW and stay at home momma, things can get tight. Creativity helps, as does healthy stewardship. It is always appreciated, however, when God uses the convictions and love of others to bless us. (Though accepting help and gifts will never be "comfortable".)
Really, forget the multi-million dollar lifestyle. When you live in the midst of God's will and provision, life is sweeter and richer than Paula Deen's butter-lovin' cookin'.
