Why I am Thankful for Laundry

When my handsome hubby and I were first married, I was surprised by the amount of laundry I was suddenly responsible for on a weekly / bi-monthly basis.  We were in an apartment, and paid per load, so we spent a small fortune on laundry.

When we bought our home, my washer and dryer had me overjoyed.  The laundry that my new baby made, did not.  Then there were four.  Now laundry-day occurs a couple of times week.  When it feels like it is a never-ending and thankless chore, I take a breath and check my attitude for a moment.

I begin listing why I am thankful for laundry.  I am thankful that everyone in my family has clothes that fit.  I am thankful that we aren't cold because we are clothed inadequately.  I am thankful that God has blessed so many people so greatly that they've given my boys clothes many times over, and clothes that I'd never be able to afford, for that matter.  I am thankful for my washer and dryer, as without them I might not be able to afford to do my laundry so regularly.  I am thankful that I am a SAHM and can do loads of laundry during naptime.  I am thankful.

Having a thankful attitude does wonders for all the time I spend folding and putting away clothes.  The beautiful pictures of friends and family I get to look at while working is a nice perk as well.

Socks, I'm sure, are of the devil himself.

I may be thankful, but I still restart loads of laundry in the washer and the dryer, and I'm sure that socks are completely unnecessary.

Happy folding!
