Homemaking for Marriage
My hubby has been out of town. He is expected to be home any minute, and I've been setting the scene for him. My dear husband likes a tidy living space, so after kiddo bedtime, I busted a move doing dishes, buffing the counters and Rainbowing the floor. I lit candles, changed into pretty pj's (rather than the ol' comfy sweats I've been sporting) and put on perfume. I want my husband to come home to nothing but lovely things, and I want him to be glad he came home.
I also wanted to be in the mindset that would allow me to be completely relaxed and focused on him. Not having dishes to do, laundry to put away or toys to pick up makes it so much easier for me to sit and talk with him, intent on what he has to say.
In no way is my house spotless, but it is clean enough to make my husband feel loved. And that is what homemaking is all about.
Do you make your home in a way that pleases your husband? Does he look forward to coming home? I know that it is a challenge, but this year is the year of challenge. Pick up the toys, put on lip gloss, shake off the Mrs. Grumpy that's been sitting on your shoulder, and be the woman your husband spends his day fantasizing about.
