What-a-trip!

The Flores' and Meyer's

**THIS POST WAS WRITTEN A FEW WEEKS AGO...JUST TO CATCH YOU UP**

My grandmother recently celebrated her 80th birthday. As a gift to her, all of her kids and grand kids (along with great grandson, Christian), descended upon her great state of Arizona to enjoy stories, BBQ and a blessed time of celebration.

We really weren't sure how we were going to afford a trip out of state right now, until I remembered receiving a hotel voucher when we bought my car a couple of years ago. It actually was set to expire at the end of the month, so I quickly scoured it for any Arizona hotels that might be available. There was ONE...in Chandler (45 minutes from my grandparents' house). What a blessing! We booked it for 4 days, 3 nights, and eagerly looked forward to a mini getaway.
Last week, after we had a CRAZY ministry weekend, I busted booty to clean the house, grocery shop, and prepare for our trip overall. We headed out on Wednesday morning and arrived in Arizona in the afternoon. We got straight into the pool at the hotel after unpacking and then went out to eat (a luxury we have not enjoyed for quite a while). Christian had a new bed: a little tent my mom bought him. He did OK...better than he does in a pack n'play lately. He awoke at 5:30 the next morning though. :-/

Thursday we went to the gym and then went swimming again. Christian loved the pool, and we did too. The weather was PERFECT...only in the 90's the entire trip. :-) That evening my parents met us at our hotel for dinner and we thoroughly enjoyed just being with them. Christian slept OK, though he got up at 4:30am the next day.

Friday we went to the gym again, and then went back to the hotel room and napped. (We saved a ton of money by bringing a cooler and ate breakfast and lunch in the room.) We headed over to my grandparents' house in the mid-afternoon where we spent the remainder of the day/evening celebrating. It was a family reunion that was far too short, but such a blessing.

I'm 22 weeks here...not sure how far along dad is!

Saturday, with our coughs and stuffy noses, we headed out. We stopped at Cracker Barrel for lunch with my parents, and as Christian saw my mom he screamed with delight as he ran to her. SO PRECIOUS. That was my first time eating at Cracker Barrel, and I really liked it. Though there were some challenges on the trip, it was a blessing for sure. :-)
