A Bedtime Prayer

Every night before bed, Christian and I read a Bible story and pray.  It is generally hit and miss with Christian's attention span, but the stories are short but poignant and have questions at the end to help with discussion.

Tonight Christian told me he wanted to "talk to God".  I let him take the reigns and he clasped his hands, closed his eyes and prayed:

"Dear God.  I love you.  Thank you for inviting all of our food all the time.  Thank you for daddy's car, for mommy's car and for my cars.  Please bless everyone.  I love you.  In Jesus' name, Amen."

He then opened his eyes with the biggest grin and said "Mom, God's happy because I talked to Him, right?"  Fighting tears I assured my beautiful little three-year-old boy that God is indeed happy and Christian's eyes lit up.

Yes, I'm officially a puddle of mush on the floor.  My cup runneth over.
